Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.弾性的に可撓性の脈管用拡張器であって、該拡張器は、脈管中への該拡張 器の挿入を容易にするために一つの端部に向かってテーパ状であって、そして該 一つの端部に近接する第1の端部および該一つの端部の遠位方向にある第2の端 部を有する移行領域を備え、該拡張器の移行領域を形成する材料の物理的特性が 、該移行領域の該第2の端部における可撓性が該移行領域の該第1の端部におけ る拡張器可撓性よりも小さい、拡張器。 2.前記拡張器の移行領域が、該拡張器の長さの半分を超えない、請求項1に 記載の拡張器。 3.前記拡張器の移行領域が、該拡張器の長さの1/4を超えない、請求項2 に記載の拡張器。 4.前記移行領域を形成する材料の可撓性が、その前記第1の端部と前記第2 の端部との間で次第に減少する、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の拡張器。 5.前記移行領域から離れた該拡張器が、実質的に一定の弾性的可撓性を有す る、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の拡張器。 6.前記拡張器が、エラストマー材料により形成される、請求項1から5のい ずれかに記載の拡張器。 7.前記拡張器の移行領域の可撓性の変化が、前記第1の端部から離れた前記 移行領域を形成する前記エラストマー材料の架橋の増加により提供される、請求 項6に記載の拡張器。 8.前記移行領域が、テーパ状部分を有する比較的剛直性の内部コア材料を備 え、少なくとも該テーパ状部分が、該コア材料の該テーパ状部分を超えて延びる 弾性的に比較的可撓性である外層により取り囲まれる、請求項1に記載の拡張器 。 9.前記内部コアが、高密度ポリプロピレンから製作される、請求項8に記載 の拡張器。 10.前記外層が、EVAコポリマーから製作される、請求項8または9に記 載の拡張器。 11.前記拡張器が、前記脈管を通じてすでに挿入されているガイドワイヤを 受け取る長手方向に延びる軸方向孔と、該拡張器周囲に設けられたシースとを有 し、該拡張器が該脈管から引き抜かれるときに該シースが該脈管中の適切な位置 に残るような、請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の拡張器。 12.前記一つの端部および前記移行領域の第1の端部における拡張器の可撓 性が、前記ガイドワイヤの可撓性に実質的に類似している、請求項11に記載の 拡張器。 13.前記移行領域の第2の端部の可撓性が、関連する前記シースの可撓性に 実質的に類似している、請求項11または12に記載の拡張器。 14.シースを体内の脈管中に導入するための導入器アセンブリであって、 ガイドワイヤと、一つの端部に向かってテーパ状になっている弾性的に可撓性 の拡張器と、該ガイドワイヤを受け取り得る長手方向に延びる軸方向孔と、該拡 張器周囲に配置されたシースとを備え、該拡張器が該一つの端部に近接する第1 の端部と該一つの端部の遠位方向にある第2の端部とを有する移行領域を有し、 該拡張器の移行領域を形成する材料の物理的特性が、該移行領域の第2の端部に おける拡張器の可撓性が該移行領域の第1の端部における拡張器の可撓性よりも 小さい、導入器アセンブリ。 15.前記拡張器の前記一つの端部が、前記ガイドワイヤの可撓性に実質的に 類似の可撓性を有する、請求項14に記載の導入器アセンブリ。 16.前記移行領域の可撓性が、前記第1の端部から前記第2の端部まで次第 に減少し、該第2の端部が関連する前記シースの可撓性にほぼ類似の弾性的可撓 性を有する、請求項14または15に記載の導入器アセンブリ。
