Abstract
1,222,076. Coaxial cables. PERMANOID Ltd. 26 April, 1968 [18 May, 1967], No. 23266/67. Heading HlA. A coaxial cable comprises an inner conductor 1, surrounded by an insulating dielectric layer of thermoplastics material, and an outer conductor 4, formed of strip metal bonded to the outer conductor surface of the dielectric layer. The cable may be made by wrapping around the inner conductor, and its surrounding dielectric layer of e.g. polyethylene, a metal strip, coated on its inner surface with polyethylene and then applying heat to said strip, to bond it to the dielectric layer. PVC may be extruded on to the conductor 4, and the heat of this extrusion may suffice to effect the bonding.
