Abstract
999,898. Cooling cylinders. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. July 9, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 14072/61. Heading F1B. A fuel tank 16 is seated in, and forms part of, the upper part of a cowling 10 directing cooling air from a fan 11. The cowling 10 forms the fan casing and the tank 16 is flanged at 17 and welded in a seating formed in the casing 10 so that the bottom of the tank helps to deflect the air towards the engine cylinder 15. A baffle 13 is provided in the cowling and the air is guided past the cylinder 15 by an outlet guide 22. The cowling may be of metal or synthetic resin.
