Abstract
997,239. Lift control systems. OTIS ELEVATOR CO. April 24, 1962 [April 24, 1961], No. 15618/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading B8L. [Also in Division H2] A lift control system (see Division H2) comprises a selector device for providing an accurate indication of a lift car as it traverses its shaft, consisting of two spaced apart magnetic inductor switches (see Division H2) mounted on the car and two groups of vanes so located in the shaft that one group, adjacent evennumbered floors, coacts with one switch and the other group, adjacent odd-numbered floors, coacts with the other switch. Circuits associated with each of the switches are so co-ordinated that, during car travel, one of the circuits associated with one of the switches cannot be re-activated until the other circuit, associated with the other switch, has been activated, thereby preventing a call from a preceding floor from being answered by the stopping of the car at the next adjacent floor. The circuits include means for indicating the position of the car in the shaft, and means for initiating stopping of the car to answer calls.
