Abstract

868,252. Lift control systems. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. April 9, 1958 [April 15, 1957], No. 11201/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 78 (3). A multi-car lift system serving two terminal floors and intermediate floors has control apparatus operated by a clock mechanism which, at predetermined times, causes one of the cars automatically to stop and reverse at a predetermined one of the intermediate floors and give a one-way service from that floor. The Specification describes in detail a three-car system serving six floors and controlled, during down peak conditions, by both a time switch, and a manually-operated switch associated with each car, which switches, when closed, cause car A to stop and reverse alternately at the fourth and second floors, car B to stop and reverse at either the fifth floor, or alternately at the third and fifth floors, and car C to stop and reverse at the sixth floor. When operating under these conditions the cars do not respond to up calls from either the car or landings and a " no up service " sign is illuminated in the car. U.S.A. Specification 2,748,894 is referred to.
