A lift valve comprises an elastic closure member 4 adapted to be urged against its seat in a chamber 1 by an adjustable spindle 6, and a bellows 2 connected at one end to the chamber and, at the other end, releasably connected to the closure member. The closure member may be screw-threadedly connicted to a projection 3 on the bellows and locked thereto by a pin 5; alternatively, the projection may be formed with a polygonal cross-section fitting into a similar shaped aperture in the closure member.
