[Also in Divisions Dl, E1 and E2] An end attachment for a cable comprises a barrel member 1, Fig. 3, furnished with a tapered screw-threaded axial bore 3, and an externally screw-threaded and longitudinally split conical insert 4, Fig. 5, adapted to be screwed into the barrel member 1, the conical insert 4 having an axial bore 6 to accommodate the cable. The two parts of the conical insert 4 have co-acting means 8, 9 for maintaining them in register. The bore 6 may have teeth, projections or serrations 7; or be furnished with a fixed or detachable liner whose bore may have teeth, projections or serrations. The barrel and the insert may have polygonal heads. The end attachment is stated to be suitable for use with wires or strands for prestressed concrete application.
