Abstract

994,358. Contact members for switches; electromagnetic switches. HAGGLUND & SONER A.B. June 15, 1961, No. 21580/61. Heading H2B. Moving contacts 3 and 4, for engagement with fixed contacts 1 and 2 when an electromagnet 8 attracts its armature 7, are mounted on a yoke 5 carried on a member 6 so as to be swingable about a projecting part 13 of member 6. The central part of the yoke is held against projection 13 by two blade springs 28 and 28<SP>1</SP> as shown. On opening of the contacts when member 6 is restored (by means not shown), the yoke is frictionally held in its aligned position. Friction between the blade springs serves to damp out contact bounce. As shown, projection 13 and yoke 5 have mating cylindrical surfaces, but projection 13 may be shaped to provide two or more supporting edges or points (Fig. 2, not shown). The yoke-mounted contacts may comprise the " fixed " contacts of the switch instead of the moving contacts.
