Abstract

993,847. Pneumatic sucker fastenings; remotely operated fastenings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. April 18, 1962 [May 3, 1961], No. 15949/61. Heading E2A. [Also in Division B7] To enable a helicopter to be anchored, e.g. to a ship's deck, each undercarriage leg 1 is constructed so that its wheel 4 may be pivoted to the position shown, one wall of the tyre being formed with a lip 6b to rest on the deck and seal a space 8. The wheel hub is formed with a duct 11 connected through a valve 13 to a suction-applying device 14 whereby the wheel and tyre may act as a suction cup.
