Abstract

990,067. Wall-mounted furniture. STRING DESIGN A.B. Feb. 20, 1962 [Feb. 20, 1961], No. 6487/62. Heading A4U. Shelves, cupboards and cabinets are secured to a panel without the aid of brackets. A shelf 12 of wood, plastic, glass, or sheet metal has an inverted key-hole slotted plate 19 for the bolt 18, which engages one of a row of tapped holes 16 in a metal rail in the wooden, plastic or sheet metal panel 10. Other forms of bolt (Fig. 6, not shown) are described. Cupboards and glass-fronted cabinets may be attached to the panels (Fig. 1, not shown). The panels may be screwed to unplastered brick walls, with the interposition of a foam rubber strip to take up irregularities in the surface of the wall.
