Abstract

982,115. Building panels. P. HACQUARD. May 16, 1961 [May 16, 1960; May 3, 1961], No. 17873/61. Heading E1B. [Also in Division F2] A panel for buildings, dams, tanks, formworks &c., is provided with a frame, of stepped channel section 5 or of angle section 10, which is closed on one or both sides by a sheet of metal or synthetic plastics material which is in a stretched state either by prestressing or by shrinkage. The frame may be of metal or synthetic plastics material and when stepped is such that the steps of two adjacent sides are oppositely directed to the steps of the other two. The corners of the frame may be strengthened by triangular plates 3, 4 and by filling them with a synthetic material. The frame may also be braced by cross-members. Adjacent panels are joined by bolting, or by magnets, keys, cams, or suction devices, with the interposition of a resilient strip 15. As shown in Fig. 4, bolts are used the stems of which have projections 18 mating with shaped apertures in the frame to prevent rotation of the bolts.
