978,754. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. April 4, 1961 [April 9, 1960], No. 11987/61. Heading A1F. In a haymaking machine of the kind having one or more rake-wheels 7 arranged obliquely to the line of travel A, a stationary plate 9 is provided at the rear side of the rake-wheel (or the rearmost rakewheel) and covers that portion of the wheel lying in the sector 45-135 degrees, reckoned from the lowest point of the wheel in the direction of rotation. The plate extends beyond the tines by at least 4 cms. and is supported by a beam 8 mounted on the axle 6 of the rearmost rake-wheel. As shown, the main frame 4 is triangular and is supported on three wheels 1, 2, 3.
