972,353. Belt tensioning devices. ETABLISSEMENTS PAIN-BOURGEAS. Feb. 1, 1963 [Feb. 3, 1962], No. 4167/63. Heading F2Q. In a tensioning arrangement for a belt 55 which passes round a pulley 54 of an electric motor, the motor is mounted by an annular flange 51 on a substantially triangular shaped plate 5 which is pivotally mounted by means of a shouldered bolt 6 on a support 1, adjustably locked on slides 2, 3, and is urged in a direction f 1 to tension the belt 55 by a resilient device 58. The plate 5 has a bevelled arcuate surface 1a which is supported by grooved rollers 11, 12 and is provided with graduations 71. The resilient device 58 comprises a spring 61 mounted on a rod 63 and located between an adjustable nut 62 and a flanged bracket 65 secured to the support 1, the rod 63 being connected to the plate 5 by a pivot 68. The support 1 may be moved along the slides 2, 3 by rotation of a hand-wheel 18 attached to shaft 19 carrying pinions 22, 23 meshing racks 24, 25 formed on the slides 2, 3. The shaft 19 is spring-urged axially into a position in which locking dogs 35 on the pinion 23 engage dogs 36 carried by a fixed member 37.
