971,816. Valves. G. BERGSTRAND. Aug. 7, 1962 [Sept. 29, 1961], No. 30154/62. Heading F2V. A mounting panel for fluid-control valves comprises a rectangular frame 5, Fig. 1, with supply and discharge ports 6, 7 in one end wall, which ports lead to passages 10, 12 formed in intake and outlet blocks 11, 12 along the bottom and top of the frame, respectively. Valve mounting blocks 14 are stacked in columns between the intake and outlet blocks 11, 12; the number of blocks 11, 12 and the mounting blocks 14 in each column as well as the number of columns may be varied as required. Three passages 15, 16, 17 in each block 14, each aligned with corresponding passages in adjacent blocks in the same column, open to the supply and discharge passages 10, 12, as shown; each valve block has three front ports 20, 21, 22 each leading from one passage 15, 16, 17, and each port 20, 21, 22 opens directly to a valve attached to the front of the associated block. Two further ports 23, 24 through each valve block are connected at the front to the valve and at the rear to conduits leading to a main cylinder. Blocks 14 may be replaced by members without valve ports as necessary. A seal for use at any of the junctions between the blocks, valves and frame is made up of a packing 29, Fig. 3, of rubber or plastic material inserted in recesses 30 around each of the passage ends to be connected. In a modification, each valve block has only two through passages, two front ports and one through port; the blocks are symmetrical and may be turned through 180 degrees to obtain reverse valve operation.
