970,162. Knitting machines. G. BILLI, and V. LUCHI. Feb. 9, 1961 [Feb. 15,1 960], No. 4809/61. Heading D1C. A yarn severing device for a circular knitting machine comprises a pair of cutting blades 8, 11, whose operative edges lie in a plane normal to the needle cylinder axis, mounted upon a pin 10 on the dial cover 3. The blade 8 is fixed whilst the blade 11 is movable against the action of a spring 12 by a rod 14 actuated by a cam 15 on the rotary dial plate 44. The coin 15 has a plurality of peaks shaped so that the opening movement of the blades is much faster than the closing there of. The blade 11 could be fixed and the blade 8 movable.
