967,305. Electrically propelled vehicles. KYSER INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION. April 19, 1963, No. 15499/63. Heading B7H. A motor vehicle comprises a flanged platform 8 with two rear wheels 5 and a front steering and driving wheel 16 mounted on a yoke 15 having a spindle 17 supported in a bearing 7 secured to a pair of arms 6 extending from platform 8, an electric driving motor 27 being connected to battery 14 on the platform through automatic switch 47 (Fig. 5) which is maintained closed by fingerpiece 51 at the top of handlebar tube 20. The switch 47 is mounted on the yoke 15 and has a spring-loaded member 49 which is contacted by rod 50 on the top of which the fingerpiece is fitted. The motor 27 and two-stage chain reduction gear are mounted in brackets on yoke 15. A pair of threaded pins 23 are provided in collar 19 above bearing 7 which engage corresponding holes in spindle 17 and tube 20 and are engageable with stop 61 on bearing 7 to limit steering lock. As the pins 23 are unscrewed first tube 20 may be lifted from spindle 17 and then the yoke and driving gear may be lowered from bearing 7.
