Abstract

965,855. Agitating apparatus. DEUTSCHE ACETOPAN GAS CO. G.m.b.H. Dec. 21, 1962, No. 48426/62. Heading B1C. Agitating apparatus for feeding and delivering fluent material upwardly comprises a vessel 1 from which leads an outlet pipe 5 having extending therethrough a coaxial shaft 4 rotatably driven together with stirring means by a motor 3, the shaft being provided with helicallyarranged paddle-shaped projections 6 as shown, or with a continuous helical fin, the vessel 1 being closed and subjected to internal superatmospheric pressure to force the material through the pipe 5. The stirring means may comprise radial arms 2 fixed to the shaft for mixing the fluent material, and nozzles 9, 10 may be provided in the wall of the vessel for admitting and regulating the discharge of compressed fluid to rotate and agitate the material to be fed. The projections 6 may be formed as rollers or scrapers to exert a grinding action on the mixture. The stirring means may alter natively comprise a turbine having a rotatable body immersed in the fluent material and provided with nozzles for discharge of elastic fluid.
