965,172. Hydraulic rams; endless conveyers. GULLICK Ltd. Feb. 25, 1963 [April 6, 1962], No. 13258/62. Headings B8A and B8J. [Also in Division E1] A roof support or chock, for mines or the like, has inclined track or like means to correct objectionable lateral movement as the support is advanced. A support 10 for inclined seam or road working has two gimbal mounted hydraulic rams 11, 12, anchored to a bar 20 attached to a conveyer C, the devices 19 being held a fixed distance X by a bar 18 to which a block 24 is adjustably clamped. Pivoted to the block 24 and support 10 is a telescopic member 21, 22 having inclined surfaces 26, 27 which engage with rollers 28, 29 to restore the support to its desired alignment and counteract any downhill movement when the support is being advanced.
