960,042. Window stays. MAGNET JOINERY (NORTHERN) Ltd. Jan. 24, 1963 [Jan. 24, 1962; Nov. 5, 1962], Nos. 2657/62 and 41767/62. Heading E2F. A window latch has two lever arms 14, 20 pivoted together at 22, a catch 28, and two brackets 16, 34 attached respectively to the frame 6 and window 2 to which the other ends of the lever arms are pivoted and is characterized in that lever arm 20 may be disconnected from bracket 34 when the window is in the closed position (see Fig. 6) providing the lever arm 20 is at a particular orientation with respect to the bracket and the catch 28 is in the released position. Lever 20 is formed with a hook 38 engaged over a pin 32 and which abuts, in the open position the bracket 34, so as to be retained on the pin. The catch 28 is pivoted to the lever 20 and is formed with a surface 48, which engages against bracket 34 to retain the hook 38 on pin 32 when the latch is in the operable position as in Fig. 6. The pivot pin 22 is provided with handle extensions.
