959,044. Reinforcing elements for concrete structures; reinforced concrete beams. RHEINBAU G.m.b.H. Oct. 2, 1961 [Oct. 7, 1960], No. 35520/61. Heading E1V. A reinforcing element for concrete building parts such as ceilings, walls, roofs or the like comprises a structural steel bar 1 extending longitudinally of the element and two structural steel rods 2, 3 each bent in undulatory form, the crests of the undulations being fixed to the bar with the plane containing the undulations of one rod at an acute angle with the plane containing the undulations of the other rod. The rods may be connected to one another at intervals by members 5 which may have projections 6 for securing additional longitudinal reinforcing rods in position. In an application of the invention, Fig. 3 (not shown) the reinforcing element is pressed into a concrete bar which contains ordinary reinforcing rods to form a composite metal-concrete lattice beam.
