Abstract

955,729. Anchor-bolts. C. I. WILLIAMS. March 24, 1961 [Dec. 16, 1960], No. 10841/61. Heading F2H. An anchor for concrete comprises a screwthreaded &c. coupling 15 and an undulating shank 10 embedded in the concrete. The undulations may be superimposed on a curved axis and may have a substantially constant pitch 16 and increase in height progressively in the direction away from the coupling 15. Instead of being in the flat plane containing the arcuate axis of the shank, the undulations may be in an arcuate plane perpendicular to the flat plane, Fig. 2 (not shown). As shown in Fig. 3, the arcuate shank may be formed with undulations of decreasing pitch and having progressively decreasing radii. A similar construction, Fig. 5 (not shown), may have undulations of constant height superimposed on a straight or curved axis.- The end of the shank opposite the coupling may be formed into an eye, and the coupling ends of several shanks may be welded to a coil 56 into which a connector 57, Fig. 6, is threaded.
