951,982. Thermo-electric devices. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Nov. 10, 1961 [Nov. 10, 1960; May 4, 1961], No. 40412/61. Heading H1K. A thermo-electric arrangement comprises a block consisting of thermo-electric elements bonded in insulating material with strips of insulating and conducting lacquer respectively between the elements at each of the " hot " and " cold " ends, the conductive lacquer skips also being thickened by additional conductive means. Fig. 3 shows a plurality of Band N type thermo-electric rod elements 22 and 23 embedded in a block 24 of adhesive resin. A slice 26 cut from this block may be used to provide a plate of thermo-electric elements As shown in Fig. 2c the end surfaces of such a plate are provided with strips 14 of insulating lacquer and strips 15 of conductive lacquer to provide the connections required for the desired pairing arrangement of the thermo-electric elements. One face comprises the hot junction and the opposite face the cold junctions. These conductive and insulating strips may be provided by a printing process, and the conductive connections are reinforced by providing a conductive layer over the ends of the elements and the conductive strip associated therewith. The arrangement may be used for thermo-electric cooling.
