950,942. Shuttleless looms. V. M. J. ANCET,and M. FAYOLLE. June 20, 1960. [June 18,1959], No. 21628/60. Heading D1E. In a loom in which weft 6 is drawn into the shed by a weft inserter 3 having a hook 3a and a gripper 4, the weft extending from a guide eye 7 to the pick just inserted enters spring-loaded stationary jaws 15 as the pick is beaten up. When the slay recedes,a selvedge needle 10 inserts a loop of selvedge thread 12 into the shed. Scissors 20 carried by the slay rise to cut the weft between the jaws 15 and the fabric, then descend clear of the selvedge mechanism. The weft inserter, which has meanwhile begun to retract to the right, grips the weft between the jaws 15 and the guide eye 7 and pulls the cut end out of the jaws. Specification 793,031 and French Specification 1,080,887 are referred to.
