950,603. Making paper bags. BOFORS A.B. May 31, 1960 [June 12, 1959], No. 19221/6O Heading B5D. [Also in Division B8] A paper web laminated with plastics material for making bags is provided with fold crease lines to provide side panels 3 ... 7, bottom panels 12 and 8, 16 and diamond-shaped areas 9, 14 between the bottom panels and the panels 4, 6 which will form the narrow sides of the bag. The web is fed over a tubular former to bend it to rectangular tubular form and the overlapping edges 1, 2 are sealed together. The bottom panels are pressed in and secured together, the bag filled through the former and the filler bag severed from the tube. The diamond-shaped areas are then pushed upwards and received within the bottom of the filled bag, the bottom edge of the bottom sealing fin being level with the bottom edges of the side panels 5 and 3, 7. The creases are formed by the feed rolls for the web.
