950,410. Escapement mechanisms. CROUZET S.A.B.L. Jan. 3, 1963 [Jan. 27, 1962], No. 334/63. Heading F2X. A gear-wheel 2 is adapted to be driven intermittently by a mechanism comprising a swing- ing plate 5 which carries a motor reduction gear unit 6, having a pinion 4 meshing the gear 2, and a two-arm lever 13, pivotally mounted at 12 on a stationary plate 1, having a finger 14 adapted to engage the teeth of the gear 2 and having a boss 18 which is adapted to be engaged by a portion 19 of the swinging plate 5. The plate 5 is urged in a clockwise direction with respect to the stationary plate 1 by springs 9, the movement being limited by pins 8 engaging slots 7. A spring 16 urges the lever 13 in a direction to engage the finger 14 with the teeth of gear 2. Rotation of pinion 4 in the direction of the arrow F causes swinging of the plate 5, in the direction of the arrow f, until the portion 19 of the plate 5 engages the boss 18 thereby releasing the finger 14 from engagement with the teeth of gear 2 and allowing rotation of gear 2, the plate 5 returning to its original position under the influence of the springs 9 and allowing the finger 14 to engage another tooth. Alternatively, the release of the lever 13 may be effected by a cam driven by the motor.
