Abstract
An electrical resistance element is formed by coating a dielectric substrate, e.g. glass, with a film of metal oxide and then a plating of a metal alloy which is of similar crystallography to the metal oxide. Rectification effects are thereby avoided. Preferably the glass is heated and coated with a film of tin oxide made by pyrolitic decomposition of tin chloride, and tin/nickel alloy is then deposited thereon electrolytically.
