An inflation valve has a two part body 1, 7, the latter incorporating a mouthpiece 8 within which is slidable an element 17 supporting a flexible closure-member 16 which is seated against a body shoulder 18<SP>1</SP> by a spring-loaded spider 11; the element 17 embodies one or more air-conducting passages or grooves. The member 16 is readily unseated by lung pressure or by manually depressing the element 17. The mouthpiece is provided with a rubber cover 19 secured to the body by an integral rubber strip 20. The valve is easily dismantled for cleaning.
