A bed settee has a base frame 1, a seat frame 2 fixedly secured to front legs 2, which are pivoted at 5 to rails 4, and resting at its rear end on a cross rail 10 so as to be inclined downwardly and rearwardly, and a back rest frame 19 pivoted to the seat frame 9 by means of plates 17 secured to frame 19 and having L-shaped slots 21 which are engaged by pins 16 on L-shaped plates 12 secured to frame 9, the plates 12 having outwardly directed flanges 14, 15 defining a guide channel.
