Abstract

934,672. Inductors. SECRETARY OF THE ARMY REPRESENTING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Nov. 27, 1961 [Nov. 30, 1960], No. 42294/61. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] In an aerial assembly (see Group XL (c)), a choke comprises a coaxial cable 17 wound upon a ferrite core 59. The cable 17 is connected to or is integral with one (13) of the aerial elements 12, 13. The upper element 12 may be opencircuited or short-circuited (Figs. 2A, 2B, not shown) depending on the load into which it is working. The ferrite cored choke is shunted by a tapped coil 60 to minimize high-frequency losses, the tappings being connected through a ganged switch 20 to a separate one of a plurality of impedance matching networks, 36, 39, 41. U.S.A. Specification 2,913,722 is referred to.
