Abstract

932,761. Testing pipes. BERLINER MASCHINENBAU A.G. March 11, 1960 [March 20, 1959], No. 8725/60. Class 106 (2). A pipe testing press, of the kind in which a pipe 3 held endwise between two opposed surfaces is subjected internally to the pressure of a fluid supplied through one of the surfaces, comprises a surface 2, in the form of a piston, spring urged against pipe 3, a contact member 1 being provided to limit the movement. The effective internal diameter of piston 2 is larger than that of pipe 1, Fig. 1, or alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), the piston may be of smaller diameter and provided with an additional annular pressure chamber. Means are provided for supplying pressure fluid to the pipe and piston and for maintaining the pressure therein for the duration of the test.
