In a tubular cross-section box in which one side comprises overlapping panels 6, 7, Fig. 2, adapted to be secured together to maintain the box in its erected condition, the overlapping panels are slit 12, 13 from their free edges towards the edges at which they are hinged to the remainder of the carton, portions of one panel being manipulated with respect to portions of the other panel so that the corresponding slits interengage to secure the overlaps together.
