929,938. Tubular adaptors. F. H. EVANS. March 1, 1960 [March 2, 1959], No. 7238/59. Class 99(1). An adaptor 10 for use on a high pressure liquefied gas cylinder comprises a nozzle portion 11 mounted on a union 14 adapted to be secured in gas-tight manner e.g. through a seal 16, on the outlet valve of the gas cylinder, the nozzle portion being so constructed that it can be engaged in gas-tight manner in the charging hole 8 of the fuel reservoir 6 of a pocket gas pyrophoric lighter to open the non-return inlet valve 7 therein for the purpose of recharging the reservoir 6 with liquefied gas which passes from the cylinder through a longitudinal bore 13 in the adpator and around the valve 7 raised off its seating by the nozzle portion. The union 14 is screwed on to the gas cylinder outlet valve. Alternatively, the adaptor is secured by a bayonet connection or a guide release clamps. The nozzle portion 11 is screwed into the hole 8 or it is tapered and held in the correspondingly shaped hole during the charging operation by a clip or by hand.
