Abstract

928,214. Eye-examining apparatus. CARL ZEISS-STIFTUNG, [trading as C. ZEISS [Firm of]]. July 18, 1961 [July 23, 1960], No. 25916/61. Class 97 (1). An opthalmological instrument consists of a slit lamp 1 with a prism 2 directing light into eye 5 of a patient and a binocular microscope which has a magnification changer 6 between its objective 3 and oculars 4. Attached to the changer 6 is a plate 7 carrying a block 10 provided with a guide 11 for the holder 11<SP>1</SP> of a Horuby lens 12 and supporting an adjustable frame 13, 13<SP>1</SP>, pivotally carrying at 17 the holder 15 of an aplanatic tonometer 14. The Horuby lens 12 is pivoted at 19, 19<SP>1</SP> to the slidable holder 11<SP>1</SP> so that by pulling the latch and rotating the lens it can be moved out of the eye illuminating beam to the position shown in dash lines. Thereupon the tonometer 14 can be rotated into the light path.
