Abstract

927,575. Shedding mechanism; dobbies. MASCHINENFABRIK CARL ZANGS A.G. Dec. 23, 1960 [April 8, 1959], No. 44236/60. Class 142 (2). A double lift open shed dobby has drawknives 7, 8 co-operating with a single hook 5 for each frame, the hook 5 having two snecks 10, 11 for co-operation with the knives 7, 8 and two snecks 12, 13 for co-operation with a slide 9 to retain the frame in the upper shed. If a pattern mechanism 34 lowers a needle 33 a lever 41 is rocked by an auxiliary knife 31 to lower the slide 9 and engage the sneck 10 with knife 7. The hook 5 may then return with knife 7. If, however, upper shed is to be retained, needle 37 is lowered, auxiliary knife 32 further rocks lever 41 to raise slide 9 and engage sneck 12. Knife 8 then moves to engage sneck 10 and slide 9 is released by pattern mechanism to enable lower shed to be obtained on return of knife 8. If, however, upper shed is to be retained pattern mechanism lowers slide 9 to engage sneck 13 and retain upper shed.
