944 891. Loom shedding mechanisms. RUTI MACHINERY WORKS Ltd. March 30, 1962 [April 26, 1961], No. 12337/62. Heading D1E. Heald frames 13, moved by motors 26, are connected by rods 12 to pattern needles 11 and control mechanisms 15,16,17 which actuate the motors 26. The control mechanism may be photoelectric 24, 25 operating through holes 18, 19, 20 in plates 15,16,17 or may be a rod which penetrates the holes to operate a switch. In Fig. 1, with the healds in upper shed, a hole 10a under the needle 11 will cause it to drop aligning the holes 18,19, 20 so that cell 24, 25 operates the motor to lower the heald. Lowering the heald causes further downwards movement of the plate 15 to misalign the holes 18,19, 20. Holes 10a in the card 10 thereafter cause no movement of the heald. To raise the healds (Fig. 3) a blank in the card causes the plate 15 to rise and align the holes 18,19, 20 to raise the healds, which raising misaligns the holes to the Fig. 1 position.
