Abstract

927,140. Driving spinning-spindles. SKF. KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. Sept. 19, 1960 [Feb. 18, 1960], No. 32155/60. Class 120 (2). [Also in Group XXIV] In a spinning frame in which each spindle is driven by a tape 16 from a drive-pulley 8 on a common shaft 7 and each pulley is associated with guide and tension pulleys 13, 14, respectively, mounted on a common bracket, the tension-pulley being in a plane to one side of the plane of the drive-pulley, the bracket takes the form of two-armed lever 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>, mounted for limited pivoting about a bar 9 parallel to the shaft 7, on the arms of which lever are mounted the journals of the pulleys 13, 14, which are not displaceable relatively to the lever. The lever is mounted on bar 9 by a saddle part 11 having an enlarged slot 11<SP>1</SP> co-operating with a pin 12 on the bar to locate the lever and limit its pivotal movement. The journal of pulley 13 is at right-angles to the axis of the driving-pulley and that of pulley 14 is parallel to it; the arm 1011 on which pulley 14 is mounted is substantially in the plane of the driving-pulley and pulley 14 is level with the wharve of the spindle and can be mounted on either side of the arm. The tension is provided by a weight 15 integral with or attached to lever 101, 10<SP>11</SP>, and the working face of pulley 13 may be inclined. Shaft 7 and bar 9 are carried by brackets secured to a downward extension 1<SP>1</SP> of the ring-rail.
