Abstract
924,009. Axle box grinding arrangements on railway vehicles. CENTRALNE BIURO KONSTRUKCYJNE PRZEMYSLU TABORU KOLEJOWEGO PRZEDSIEBIORSTWO PANSTWOWE. Feb. 5, 1960, No. 4207/60. Class 103(6). A railway vehicle axle box 8, Fig. 1, has a pair of opposed side lugs 1, 2, (only lug 1 can be seen in the Figure), at the level of the axle centre, pivotally connected to generally horizontal links 4, 6, which are pivoted to the lower ends of vertical links 3, 5, respectively, pivotally connected at their upper ends to the vehicle frame 13. A lug 2<SP>1</SP> on the axle box axially aligned with the lug 2 (not shown) is pivotally connected to one end of a generally horizontal guide arm 7 pivotally connected at its other end to the vehicle frame. All the points of articulation of the links and arm are provided with synthetic plastic brushes. A pin 9 on the top of the box 8 is slidable in a hole 10 in the frame and the bottom of the axle box is connected to the frame through a pair of springs 11 and a support member 12. A single bolt connects the arm 7 to the axle box lug 2<SP>1</SP> and the adjacent axle box lug 2 (not shown).
