919,289. Electric cable fasteners. RAYMOND, A. March 23, 1960 [April 3, 1959 ; June 29, 1959; Nov. 5, 1959], No. 10332/60. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] Electric cables are secured to supporting brackets by means of a three-part fastener comprising a base member engaging the bracket, a clamping arm for securing the cables, an upstanding or downwardly projecting pin secured to the base or the clamping arm, and a fixing member having teeth by which it grips the pin. As shown in Fig. 2 for an embodiment having an upstanding pin 19, the base member 16 from which it projects includes a spring clip which passes through a slot in the supporting bracket 15 and grips the underside of this bracket. The clamping arm 10 passes over this pin and grips cables 20, 20a. It is pressed down on to the pin and has teeth 12, 13 which prevent return upward movement. Fig. 12 shows a base member 16a having a hole 30 through which the pin projects and downwardly projecting channels 27 for fitting over the upstanding flanges of a channel section bracket. Inwardly directed prongs 28b bite into the bracket to prevent the fixture lifting off. An alternative base arrangement having securing spring 32 is shown in Fig. 14. If desired, the lateral extension 34 may be omitted so that both ends of spring 32 pass under the bracket 15. In this case a lever may be used to position and remove the unit. In a modification, Fig. 26, the arrangement of components is inverted. A special tool may be used for assembly and disengaging each form of fastener.
