Abstract
918,320. Knitting-machines. PLANCK, A. March 28, 1961, No. 11397/61. Class 74 (2). A fabric draw-off device for a circular knitting or hosiery machine, e.g. those known as circular loop wheel machines, comprises, carried below the needle cylinder or machine body 10, on a support 12, 13 connected thereto, a ring of drawoff segments 20, adapted to be moved up and down and, above these on the support, a drag ring, e.g. a brush take-down ring 28, 29. As shown, a U-section ring 13 is carried on supports 12 secured to the body 10 which is rotatably mounted on the main shaft 11. Segments 20 are mounted on the arms 18<SP>1</SP> of levers 18 pivoted to arms 16 secured to ring 13 and biased downwardly by springs. As shaft 11 rotates, the arms 18<SP>2</SP> of levers 18 are periodically lifted by rollers 21 pivoted on arms 23 carried on a hub 25 secured to shaft 11 to be vertically adjustable. On disengagement from rollers 21 the springs return arms 18 to their original position and segments 20 are moved downwardly drawing the fabric 24 with them.
