Abstract

918,276. Rotary printing machine cylinders. TIMSONS Ltd. Oct. 27, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 36389/59. Class 100 (2). A flexible sheet such as a tympan 3, Fig. 1, is secured to a cylinder 1 by clamping the end portions 3a of the sheet, to which anchoring bars 4 are attached, in a channel 2 formed in the cylinder by means of a locking bar 5 interposed and forced into position between the bars 4. Locking may be achieved by a wedging action produced either by providing the bar 5 with tapering sides or tapering the appropriate sides of the bars 4. The leading marginal edge portions of the bar 5 may be tapered and suitable means may be provided at the ends of the bar 5 to secure it in its locking position.
