Abstract

916,596. Furniture joints. HENSEL, E. Nov. 13, 1961 [Jan. 9, 1961], No. 40519/61. Class 52 (2). A fitting for disengageably connecting furniture parts 3, 7 comprises a plate member 4 rotatably mounted in a bore 2 of the furniture part 3 and a hooked peg 14 secured to the furniture part 7, the plate 4 having a cam surface 5 with end portions 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>11</SP>. When the parts 3, 7 are positioned as shown in Fig. 1 and the plate 4 rotated in one direction the end portion 5<SP>1</SP> engages a hooked end 21 of the peg 14 and the parts 3, 7 are drawn together. On rotation of the plate 4 in the other direction the end portion 511 which is wider than the end portion 5<SP>1</SP> will come into contact with the hooked end region of the peg 14 tending to dislodge the plate 4 from the bore 2. The peg 14 may have an eccentric portion 15 having radial projections engageable in a bayonetaction socket 11 so that the peg 14 may be removably secured in the part 7. In a modification shown in Fig. 11, the peg 22 has two hooked ends 21, both of which are engageable by plate members 4 rotatably mounted in furniture parts 23, 24.
