Abstract
916,202. Casting concrete. WENNSTROM, E. July 13, 1959, No. 23935/59. Class 87(2). A mould 1, for casting concrete beams, is mounted on trunnions 5 in a frame 3 and has a detachable cover 4. When the concrete has been poured in, the mould is inverted and the cover then serves to support the moulded beam. Bridging frames 10, Fig. 3, may be fitted to enable moulded beams to be stacked. The mould walls 6a, 6b converge and a suction effect arises as the soft concrete leaves the mould which creates uneven surfaces 8a, 8b on the mould beam. When beams are placed side by side, V-shaped spaces result between the sloping sides of adjacent beams which are filled with grouting, and the bonding effect is improved by the surface unevenness. Beams may be moulded with lightening holes and may incorporate reinforcement.
