Abstract
916,011. Drawer and shell boxes. DAVIES & CO. Ltd., ALLEN. July 13, 1959 [July 11, 1958; Sept. 23, 1958], Nos. 22404/58 and 30416/58. Class 18. A drawer and shell box has means for limiting the amount by which the drawer can be extended from the shell so that the box can be used as a dispenser. In one form, Fig. 3, the shell is folded to tubular form from a rectangular blank and the drawer has a slit 16 which engages a tongue 7 in the shell thereby limiting the amount that the drawer can be opened. In a modification used for dispensing cigarettes or pencils, one end of the open part of the drawer is torn away so that the articles can be dispensed from the narrow sides of the box. Several boxes may be arranged side-by-side or compartments may be provided in a single shell. A strut may be provided on the back of the shell to support the box in the dispensing position; alternatively the box may be suspended by means of a hole 6. In the form shown in Fig. 5, two rows of articles are dispensed through openings 40, the drawer having a turned over flap 36 engaged by a tongue 7 on the shell. A vertical partition having a tongue 39 separates the two rows of articles. Each top flap 28 has one article secured thereto for display purposes. Windows 41 give a visual indication of the number of articles in the dispenser.
