In apparatus, e.g. that of Specification 801,343, for subjecting a number of running yarns to heat-treatment, yarn packages are disposed in pairs between heating-elements, one yarn from each pair being passed through a guide 19 to a heating element 13 by a forwarding device, e.g. rollers 21, 22, below the element. As shown, two pairs of yarn packages are employed and the element has a double track to which the yarns run in parallel after leaving the device 21, 22. For each pair, the tag end of the bobbin in use is connected to the leading-end of the other, and the bobbins are connected to a support 11 by push-on or clip-on means and are inclined towards one another.
