942,211. Spinning yarns. J. FRYS. Nov. 28, 1960 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 40864/60. Headings D1D, D1F and D1W. A machine for manufacturing a textile thread comprises two bobbins 5, 6 for holding strands of thread of opposite twist, e.g. right-hand twist and left-hand twist respectively, mounted on two coaxial spindles 7, 8 placed nose-to-nose and arranged for rotation in opposite directions; the arrangement being such that balloons 17, 18 are formed and reduce, by false twist, the spinning twists of the strands which are intertwined to form a single thread at a central point between the noses of the spindles, the single thread consisting of two strands 1, 2 of opposite or zero twist and passing out axially through the tubular spindle 8. The spindles 6, 7 are driven by belts 11,12 at speeds dependent upon the twists of the component strands so that the twists have substantially the same absolute value at the point of intertwining.
