Abstract

907,574. Centrifugal separators. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. April 6, 1961 [Oct. 15, 1960], No. 12418/61. Class 23. In a multicell cyclone dust extractor in which the cells 3 are arranged in two or more rows and have axial inlets 7 and clean gas outlet pipes 4 discharging into ducts 5 located above the cells, inspection and cleaning of the vortexgenerating vanes of the cells is facilitated by each duct 5 being common to a number of rows of pipes 4 but having a width less than that necessary to cover those pipes. As shown, each duct 5 is common to four rows of pipes 4 and has a width sufficient to cover only two rows, the pipes in the outer rows being bent inwardly to meet the duct. Open gratings 15 are provided in the gas passages 13<SP>1</SP> for inspecting personnel. The gas to be cleaned is supplied through openings 6 and clean gas is discharged through openings 5a. The dust is expelled from apertures 8 in the cells 3 to a dust chamber 2.
