Abstract

864,583. Centrifugal separators. GREEN & SON Ltd., E. Aug. 27, 1959 [Aug. 28, 1958], No. 27712/58. Class 23 In a cyclone separator comprising a gas outlet tube 6 and a dust outlet 7, means are provided to deflect dust from entering the outlet tube and returning this dust to the part of the separating chamber surrounding the tube. A deflector 12 deflects the dust into an annulus 9 between a tube 8 and the tube 6, and the dust leaves the annulus adjacent the end plate of the cyclone. A scraper comprising wire. coils 11, 13 is reciprocated to clean the outlet 7 and the annulus. A multi-cyclone separator is shown having a partition 2 carrying the cyclones and separating the inlet chamber 3 and the gas outlet chamber 4, the dust being collected in pipes 15.
