Abstract
907,329. Tea-pots, &C. MILLS, R. C. Feb. 16, 1961 [Feb. 17, 1960, No. 5555/60. Class 66. In a jacketed teapot, &c. the jacket 14 is in two separable parts 22, 23 carrying flanges 27, 28 held in contact by a channel-section ring 29, contracted diametrically on to the flanges 27, 28 by a releasable retaining means. The retaining means may comprise a recess in a handle 18 or a clamp 32, Fig. 4 (not shown) housed, within the handle 18, which handle is held in place by a lug 44 projecting from the upper part 22 and a screw 40 screwed into the lower part 23. To disassemble the vessel, e.g. to renew a broken pot, the handle 18 is first removed by releasing the screw 40, the clamp 32 is removed and the ring 29 is expanded diametrically, whereupon the twoparts 22, 23 may be separated. The short spout 13 of the pot 10 is sealed into the spout of the jacket 14 by a rubber bush 46 and a rubber ring 35 is inserted between the rims of the pot 10 and jacket 14 to ensure a tight fit. The vessel is fitted with a loose lid 16. The upper part of the jacket may be of polished metal and the lower part of synthetic resinous material, the pot being of earthenware, &c.
