Abstract

905,177. Teapots &c. ALCOCK. LINDLEY & BLOORE Ltd., and LINDLEY, W. S. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 5, 1960], No. 7894/60. Class 66. A vessel such as a teapot has a pouring spout 11 and a handle 12 diametrically opposite each other, a circular filling opening 13 having a horizontal ledge 14 around it, which is overhung by shoulder 17 except for a gap 16 nearest the handle, and a circular lid 20 having a rim 22 with one or more projecting lobes 23 adapted to pass through the gap 16 and engage under the shoulder to lock the lid in position when the lid is partly rotated. The knob 24 on the lid may be replaced by a bar which indicates whether the lid is locked. The spout may have a base portion 11a integral with the body 10 and a detachable metal portion 11, or the whole spout may be integral with the body. The teapot may be made of ceramic, plastics, or metal.
