Abstract
906,508. Slot wedges for dynamo-electric machines. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN NARODNI PODNIK. June 5, 1959 [June 16, 1958], No. 19312/59. Class 35. Slot-wedges are secured against axial displacement by a key engaging slots in both the core and the wedges and located by a shrunkon ring, a damping ring or end-bell. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the ends of the wedges 5 are flattened and recessed at 6 to accommodate rectangular metal pins 4 projecting from slots in the core. The pins are secured radially by a projecting part of the coil end-bell. The pins 4 may be of various shapes and may be threaded for easy removal. In the modification shown in Fig. 10, a slot 2 accommodating a keying ring 9 runs across both the slot-wedges 5 and the core, displacement of the ring being prevented by a tyre 10, an extension of the end-bell 7, or by a damping ring. Alternatively, the ring 9 may be of dovetail or like shape to prevent radial displacement.
